ABOUTKARNISH ART

Karnish Art is an experienced painter from South Africa whose vibrant abstract works have been featured in national exhibitions. Ever since she was a kid, she felt that being an artist was in her DNA and essential to her being. Her artistic practice is centred around nature, movement, and flow, and she freely approaches her canvases with an intuitive and playful energy. Working with oils, acrylics, pastels, graphite, and charcoal, graffiti and pencils, Karnish layers mesmerizing textures on top of each other, creating stimulating abstract universes.

My work portrays emotions and elements, it reflects the playfulness and ecstasy of Being, the limitless Unity in All, the harmonious and subtle elegance of Timelessness, the philosophical Essence of the minuscule and the majestic, the movement and dance of the cosmos – it depicts the magic of being Alive!

I was privileged to be given one of Karen’s paintings, titled “The flame within”. At an exhibition of her work, it immediately caught my attention: Fire to me symbolizes wisdom and knowledge, along with cleaning and renewal – and of course passion, romance and warmth. Everything that is touched by fire changes. I find myself looking at the painting and depending on my mood I get something different from the work. I love it!
